CREATE HOPE in the WORLD

The Rotary International President for 2023-24 is Gordon McInally, a member of the Rotary Club of South Queensferry in Scotland. At the Rotary International Assembly in Florida in January this year he announced the presidential theme for 2023-24 - Create Hope in the World. Gordon McInally urged Rotary members to promote peace in troubled nations, help those affected by conflict, and maintain the momentum of initiatives begun by past leaders. He stated, "The goal is to restore hope — to help the world heal from destructive conflicts and, in turn, to help us achieve lasting change for ourselves."

On announcing the Rotary theme, Gordon spoke about meeting a woman in Ban Taling Chan, in Thailand. Rotary members had helped build houses, a meeting hall, childcare and health care facilities following the tsunami that devastated South Asia in late 2004. The woman had lost her husband, her daughter, and her son in the tsunami, as well as her livelihood. But she still had a gift to offer Gordon: a beautiful seashell. He said she went on to tell him that Rotary had restored her optimism – we gave her hope. This is how Rotary brings lasting change to the world – one restored or newly created hope at a time.

Our Services

Our important causes

Ace Foundation

Rotary Cranbourne has been supporting The ACE Foundation since its inception in 2014 by founder Leon Shapero. It is a NOT FOR PROFIT Foundation which exists solely on donations and has no administrative costs.
He has worked in Cranbourne as a GP Obstetrician since 1987 and has close ties with local schools.

The ACE vision is to assist students of any age in the City of Casey who are experiencing significant challenges in their educational pursuits. These challenges may be either cultural, language, socioeconomic, physical or family fracture related etc.

Helping Hands Project

The Helping Hands Program is a truly unique opportunity for organisations to get involved in a worthwhile cause at the same time as super-charging employee engagement.
More than just a team building or training activity, participants in our programs build prosthetic hands that are then donated to amputee landmine victims throughout the developing world.
The activity empowers every participant in just a few hours to make a real and lasting contribution and in doing so reminds people what it feels like to be engaged in a truly purposeful activity.

Community Information & Support Cranbourne

It has assisted nearly 10,000 households each year. Major building renovations were completed in 2011, which have provided clients with a more comfortable and personalised experience and freed up space for the delivery of much-needed outreach services.

CISC aims to always Inform, Support and Empower our local community.
